Public Hearings

Public hearings are an announced formal meeting conducted by Greenwood Village officials where testimony is usually taken under oath, by affirmation or by subpoena, and to afford the public the fullest opportunity to express opinions on a project or item. An audio verbatim record and/or written transcript of the proceedings are made part of the Village's record. Public hearings are held for annexation considerations, liquor licenses, capital improvement projects and zoning matters of the Village.

Citizen participation is encouraged and welcomed at these hearings. Council and staff believe that the more involved citizens are in the early stages of program and legislation development, the better local government can meet the needs and expectations of our community.

Public notice is usually required and is given in the manner provided by the charter, statute, or ordinance pursuant to which the hearing is to be held. This means some hearings are published in the Village's designated newspaper The Villager.

In the event a public hearing is postponed or continued, notice may be given at the original hearing date announcing the new date and time, the new notice may be republished in The Villager, posted on the Village's website, or posted on the property. Individuals may subscribe to receive notice of the posting of the public hearings through the Village's Notify Me.

City Council
A public hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, 6060 South Quebec Street, Greenwood Village, Colorado, to consider Case No. 17-33-SUP.  The owner of 6787 S. Emporia Street requests approval of a Special Use Permit (SUP) to allow future tenants with the following land uses:  Light Assembly & Manufacturing, Recreation Facilities, Vehicle Repair Facilities, and Wholesale Businesses.  The proposed SUP, which provides for staff approval of future tenants, would allow the property owner flexibility in leasing.  Please contact Bill Flanigan, Planner I, at 303-486-5748, with any questions concerning the proposal.
November 6, 2017 Local Liquor Licensing Authority A public hearing will be held to determine whether or not the application of Zeal II, LLC d/b/a Zeal - Food for Enthusiasts for a Hotel & Restaurant Liquor License at 5370 Greenwood Plaza Boulevard #I-107, Greenwood Village, CO 80111 should be granted or denied.

A public hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017 at City Hall, 6060 South Quebec Street, Greenwood Village, Colorado to consider whether City Council should dissolve the 900 Belleview Local Improvement District (LID) since the LID project is complete and the debt has been paid. The intent of the LID was to address the construction of a noise attenuating structure for the property owner within the district.
